Question on for people pre-operation?

Hi, I have a genuine question about people and I was wondering if someone could answer it (serious answers please, although I'm sure that won't deter some idiot from making a gay joke). I was just wondering if it's normal or heard of at all for people to have before having any ual reignment surgery or anything. Say for example there is someone who was born a girl but feels they should be male. He's interested in girls and dresses like a guy. If he meets a girl who knows the whole situation and is okay with it, is it out of the ordinary for them to have ? I mean, obviously when having it would be pretty obvious that he is physically a girl... So would they just have like s, or would that be too uncomfortable for him? I see how a male to female person could have sex a little easier than a female to male one... so I was just wondering. I'm sorry if this question is worded badly. I have the utmost respect for LGBT people, just very curious about this. :)
