Laser printers vs ink printers?

hi, i want to purchase a multifunction printer,to be able to scan,fax,print text and photos, and i'm really confused as in which one is better for what i need, also i will soon set up a small business so i want to be able to print some nice brochures, pamflets etc. i went to different shops, asked many people, some people say laser some sau ink,i need help from people who actually own one of these.
