The importance of keeping a promise..?

So here it goes, me and my bf ordered a designers bag for me which he had to buy for my birthday. He paid a deposit and said once the bag is delivered from Wellington we will go and buy it. So when I got a phonecall that my bag is waiting for me he said it's too early and still plenty of time before my BD. He asked me to wait until the next week. When that week came, btw Ive been eagerly waiting loosing my patience, he said that he doesnt have enough money this week and said that pobably next week he will be able to afford it. So today he came back from work and I asked him about bloody bag and he was just like" ohh,I said probably, but not for sure, sorry but this week money goes towards our trip..." I was so dissapointed, not because I am acting like a child(thats what he said) but because he doesnt fulfill his words with intentions to actualy do what he promises. Am I just being impatient and full of ****?(according to him)
