What's the name of this movie?

Its an older movie about a boy who goes into a spaceship.. the ship has like an eye that he can see and talk to. The ship is also all silver. When he comes back to earth everyone's grown up while he's still a little kid. I cant remember much because i was a kid when i saw it.
