Is it recommended for a Malaysian to live and study in Aberdeen? Is the crime rate that bad ?

I like Aberdeen, and the crime isn't any worse than the rest of the UK (and much better than, say, Glasgow). There are places to avoid, but you will learn those quickly and that's true for any city. I have had a couple of friends from SE Asia who studied in Aberdeen, and they all loved living there. Because of the oil industry, there are many international offshore workers there, and racism seems to be less than most places in the UK so I don't think you will have to worry about that. Scots are very friendly and welcoming.
